Elected to the Board in 2008, Mr. Christopher Casado is the Director of Marketing for a local produce sales corporation with deep roots in the Clovis community. He has been heavily involved in Clovis Unified schools for years; first as a student, then as a parent of four students and the spouse of a CUSD teacher. In addition to his work in the produce industry and on the CUSD Board, Chris is a certified medic and basic life support instructor for local Emergency Medical Services. A 45-year resident of Clovis Unified, Chris has seen his four children grow up in the district and graduate from either Clovis High (his own alma mater), or Clovis East High. His vested interest in the maintenance of Clovis Unified’s high quality education system lead to his decision to run for the Governing Board, where he hopes to continue to put students first. Term expires 2020.

Dr. Steven Fogg was raised in Fresno and is the oldest son in a family of seven children. He has Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University and Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Utah. After specializing in Ophthalmology at St. Louis University, he returned to the Valley to work with his father. Dr. Fogg and his wife, Stephanie, raised their five children in the Clovis Unified school system. He and his wife are devoted supporters of CUSD athletics and academics. Dr. Fogg believes in the importance of building the mind, body and spirit of each student and is a strong defender of Clovis Unified’s values, character and tradition of excellence that attracts families to move into our school district.  Dr. Fogg has served on local hospital and medical boards. He enjoys teaching and is an assistant clinical professor at UCSF-Fresno. He loves challenges and hard work. His childhood wish was to be a farmer and has raised a variety of animals. Dr. Fogg joined CUSD Governing Board in 2016. Term expires 2020.

Ms. Susan Hatmaker grew up in the Clovis Unified School District and is a graduate from Clovis High School. Susan attended California State University, Fresno and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Accountancy. She then earned her juris doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Susan is the principal in the law firm Hatmaker Law Group and primarily practices employment law, representing employers. Susan and her husband, Doug Hatmaker, raised two sons who attended Clovis Unified schools. Susan and Doug’s eldest son is a graduate from Buchanan High School, and their youngest son finishing up high school, also at Buchanan High School. Susan is very passionate about all students receiving a quality education that meets each student’s needs. Susan wants to help maintain Clovis Unified’s excellence in all that it does. Susan was elected to the Governing Board in 2018. Term expires 2022.

Serving on the Governing Board since 1996, Brian Heryford has seen his involvement in the school district grow along with his children. Progressing from Parent Club President and Booster at the elementary and intermediate school level, Mr. Heryford ran for election to the school board in 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from the University of Santa Clara and has run his own insurance brokerage firm in Clovis. Mr. Heryford is active in a number of community organizations, including the Old Town Clovis Kiwanis, the Clovis Rodeo Association, and the local Boy Scouts. “Clovis Unified is a great district and I want to keep it that way,” he said in regard to his work with the Governing Board. Term expires 2020.

CUSD enjoys community support that extends generation to generation. Ginny L. Hovsepian, a fourth generation school board member, represents this tradition on the Governing Board. Graduating from Clovis High School, Mrs. Hovsepian obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in research psychology at California State University, Fresno. She has also completed graduate level work at CSUF and University of Nevada. A lifelong resident of Clovis Unified, Mrs. Hovsepian chose to pursue a position on the school board after being active in the District’s parent clubs for a number of years. She has served on the Board since 1991. Term expires 2020.

A long-time Clovis resident and Clovis High School graduate, Betsy Sandoval maintains a career in the insurance industry as an insurance agent in addition to her School Board duties. Raising three children in Clovis schools, she has seen all three return to work for the District. Three of her grandchildren have graduated from Clovis Unified, while her other three grandchildren still attend CUSD schools. First elected to the School Board in 1981 and serving until 1993, Mrs. Sandoval returned to the Board in 1996. She is also a member of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Auxiliary, Clovis Community Hospital Guild, and the Clovis Rodeo Association. Like many of our school board members, her interest in Clovis Unified began when her children attended elementary school and expanded from Parent Club involvement to her election to the Governing Board. Term expires 2022.

As a K-12 Clovis Unified graduate, Tiffany Stoker Madsen believes her experiences as a student in Clovis Unified shaped her, built character and prepared her to succeed in college, graduate school, and life. After graduating as Valedictorian from Clovis West High School, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University and Cum Laude from U.C. Hastings College of Law in San Francisco. Now, as a mother of five children in the District (ranging from kindergarten to 11th grade), she is dedicated to putting students first and preserving and perpetuating the tradition of excellence, character and values of Clovis Unified. Tiffany has deep roots to the Clovis community – she was honored to represent the community as Miss Clovis and Miss California 1995. She practiced Labor and Employment Law before staying home to raise her five children. She currently runs her own music studio where she teaches Let’s Play Music to young children. In addition to serving on the Board, she also volunteers in her children’s classrooms and serves on her school’s Intercultural Diversity Advisory Council (IDAC) and School Site Council (SSC). Tiffany joined the CUSD Governing Board in 2018. Term expires 2022.
